About The Arthur Family
Please sign in to see more. Robert Massiah Arthur, Sr., was the patriach of the Arthur family. Very little is known about him, other than his name. We believe that his son, Robert Massiah Arthur, Jr., was a bookkeeper at a plantation. It is interesting to note that many of his descendents, no matter what profession they choose, seem to have a knack for business. Several own and operate their own businesses. Some are bankers, many are teachers and almost all have a love of books. There are several doctors and a few attorneys have snuck into the family. No matter what they do, (whether they use it, or not) all have high intellect. For some reason, his descendents seem to fall into two catagories, the very serious, and those who love a good joke. But all have beautiful smiles. It is unusual to find one with bad teeth. Another common trait is the ability to carry a tune, with several having very good voices.
His descendents tend to have a religious center, whether or not they join a particular demonmination. They tend to be law abiding. This is not to say that they are a self righteous bunch. A few of those exist, but most know how to enjoy a good steel band and little Bajan rum in moderation. They can be stubborn as a mule. Try your last nerve, but for the most part they are a loving, kind bunch, and I am proud to be a descendant of Robert Massiah Arthur, and a relative of yours.
